In collaboration with our jewelers, manufacturers, and designers, ISSA B NEW YORK, chooses materials that can genuinely hold up to our exquisite jewelry for daily use. Every single one of the materials we use, along with the craftsmanship of every single piece, must pass our test for daily usage. For this reason, we deliberately use gold vermeil, sterling silver, diamonds, and specific gemstones.
Because of how much more robust our items are, you can sleep, wash, and sweat in your clothes. It won't scrape as easily and will keep shining.
The thick layer of gold vermeil that covers sterling silver, which is by itself a quality metal and is made to last, makes it preferable than gold plating.

 

Yellow Gold Vermeil

The highest quality of plated jewelry, gold vermeil sits on top of a bond over a base metal of sterling silver (at least 2 microns thick). The biggest advantage of gold vermeil jewelry is the long lasting quality due to the thick layer of gold and the durable base metal of sterling silver. It's wonderful for sensitive skin and has natural anti-tarnishing properties. The best part about it is that it is much more affordable than solid gold. We call it the "Business Class of Golds".
